573 Marley’s Ghost 12-29-15

Jacob Marley was dead.
Dickens was sure.
But the book was so short,
he could not get the whole of it.

Jacob came back –
from Jamaica-
as Bob Marley’s cousin
singing Reggae and a little bit of
“Don’t worry. Be happy!”
bouncing his chains and money boxes
to voodoo chants and calipso beats.

So next time you see ALister Sims
bein’ Ebenezar Scrooge,
think of Jacob jammin’
Caribbean Christmas Carols,
sweatin’, tanned, smokin’
a big Mary Wanna reefer,
straw hat, Panama shirt, linen shorts,
his jaw bone flappin’ in its
orange, red and green scarf.

“AAAHHH, man! You got to love
‘dis heat, My Brother!
And ‘dis fine salt air!!!
Repent, ‘Nezar!
and come in for a swim!
God’s a Bountiful Forgiver!!
Tink on it Eben ezor!
Tink on it!
You’ll find me on some
sun drenched beach
wit my lady on my chest
and my big man growin’ bigger
and you can bring your own
or borrow mine for a while,
no intrest charged,
no coin box needed!”
