613 Freddie the flounders close encounter 7-6-16 (go to 580 for keyword search)

What do the friends of
little Freddie the flounder
wonder when they see him
feeding in the sand,
then,
for no apparent reason,
pop from his camouflaged spot
to begin a spastic assent to
somewhere,
flashing his white belly
and his brown mottled topside,
twisting, jerking
like, maybe, he really doesn’t want
to be rising that way,
but, maybe, it’s just a
spur of the moment-
“I wanna be Flipper!!!”
good idea!
Who knows?

And on his surprising return,
he seems somehow smaller
and he “…just don’t wannna
talk about
it…”
and he seems to have lost his
appetite for minnows
and what’s with that
hole in his lip?

“Come on Fred!
We’re old school mates!
What’s up?”
