709 Be ye not unequally yoked 9-15-17 (see word search box)

“Know what I really wish?”
bubbled the lovely cuddle fish
to her new amour.
“I wish that you could cuddle me more,
or is that too much to ask?”

She giggled through her gills
at the silliness of her gambit.
She had, she thought,
played it as a lark.

She knew, of course,
he couldn’t cuddle her more,
no matter how much it,
by she or he,
would be adored.

He was what he would always be,
a cuddler from a distance.
For,
her lover was,
to their sadness,
a shark.
