724 Deus Erectus 11-18-17 (to be read after reading #260 – Adam Erectus)

At last!
The Ape
rose from His knees,
after millenniums of agonies
struggling to control chaos,
He knew what He had to create,

over coming centuries:

Iron chain grids
slid down over the murderous clan
that was his species.

He knew.
and the knowing made Him proud.

what might force that giant restraint
onto the backs of His race?

There the Ape stood,
his hand on tomorrows door.
What might He use to open it,
to usher them into

What would make it
worth their wild?

A Something,
dwelling some other where,
razored with fear,
oozing reward:

some god with a face,
a burning hell
and a peaceful,

These to assure the Ape
He could control
what He had begun.

Picture Him,
smiling as He lingers,
relishing His creation
which He has pronounced

missing completely

the gentle pull of the silk threads
attached from his legs, elbows, fingers
to the wooden cross
held in the hands of the Great Puppeteer
manipulating from high in the proscenium,
who knew all before all began,
who knew how to teach
the ape to fly
and what would yet have to be done
to transport him from the jungle,
past the sun.

Leaping from ideas to words,
shaped to fit genetic complexities
and constraining boundaries of geography,

many maps:

and to explain them,

eternal, spinning wheels.
a knowing in the mind.

to their destiny
in eternity.

As the Master
plays on and on and on…
