994 ANOTHER CHARACTERISTIC OF GETTING OLD 04-29-21

A pleasant realizing arising about aging:

I can be more and more

entertained

by less and less!

A breakfast bowl filled with

Cheerios and fruit:

Two bananas, sliced / Six strawberries, halved / Five black berries / Five spoon full of blueberries….

With Nancy who always gives me

her avocado shells to scrape out

two fork fulls of avocado,

after she finishes making her salmon locks sandwitch

with avocado slices on the side.

(we do try to eat healthy!)

A Blue Jay taking his daily plunge

in the bird bath whose filling with water,

I am responsible for.

One-phone-call-a-day

from a real human, about something

rather than ten-sales-calls-a-day

about junk.

Mostly, I hang-up, if I answer at all, just to get their goat!

A new poem,

which, like this one,

will take some work to get done.

It’ll probably never be published,

but the purpose is neither money nor fame,

but to put my name

on something that will entertain….

me.

Just for the fun of it!

Why not?

Hell!

I have the time,

right?
